Two hurt in weekend accident

SHEBOYGAN FALLS — A man from Adell and his young daughter were injured after an accident Sunday in Sheboygan Falls.

According to Sheboygan Falls Police Chief Steven Riffel, Anthony P. Cardiel, 39, of Adell, was eastbound on state Highway 28 with his 3 year old daughter in the car when he crossed the center line and sideswiped a car driven by James. D Wisnowski, 56, of Manitowoc.

Riffel said Wisnowski saw the car coming and tried to get out of the way, but the impact sent his car into a traffic sign, a light pole and then airborne into the treeline northeast of the roundabout at highways 28 and 32.

Wisnowksi and his passenger, 81-year-old Elsie Wisnoski, were uninjured. Cardiel and his daughter were taken by Orange Cross Ambulance to St. Nicholas Hospital. Citations are pending for Cardiel, who told officers that he was trying to adjust the air conditioning in his car when he crossed the center line.
