SHEBOYGAN — The City of Sheboygan Department of Public Works will begin picking up leaves next week Monday, October 8.
In an effort to provide better service, the Department of Public Works has divided the city into five sections for leaf collection, one zone for each day of the week.
Under this program, crews will concentrate their efforts within the assigned zone each day. This will allow crews to work efficiently and effectively together.
The leaf ranking zones are opposite of the garbage collection schedule. Residents ranking leaves will not have piles of leaves in the street to conflict with garbage collection.
Residents are remained to rake leaves away from the curb, creating space for water to flow properly, and any storm water catch basins to prevent flooding.
There will be no leaf pickup on November 22 and November 23 due to Thanksgiving. Leaf collection will end on Friday, November 30.
