NewsSHEBOYGAN — A suspect is in custody after a high-speed chase on Interstate 43 on Sunday night.

Shortly after 7:30 PM, the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office of a vehicle northbound on I-43 approaching Sheboygan County that was operating recklessly and the vehicle came back as stolen from Illinois.

A Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Deputy located the vehicle, which was a Ford Mustang, on I-43 and State Highway 32 in the Town of Holland.

The Deputy followed the vehicle and was able to confirm the license plate and stolen status.  A traffic stop was attempted on I-43 and County Road V in the Town of Wilson, but the suspect vehicle failed to stop and attempted to elude officers.

The pursuit reached speeds of approximately 120 MPH at times. Officers from multiple agencies attempted to stop the pursuit with the use of Road Spikes but the suspect continued even when his tires were deflated.  The pursuit started in Sheboygan County at Mile Marker 120, continued through Manitowoc County and ultimately ended in Brown County at Mile Marker 180.

Brown County Sheriff’s Office was able to apprehend the suspect after a brief foot pursuit and the suspect was turned over to our custody.
