SHEBOYGAN —  A 17 year old boy has been charged Friday with sexually assaulting his 15 year old ex-girlfriend.

The Sheboygan Police Department was informed Thursday of sexual sexual contact occurring between a female student at Sheboygan South High School and Tanner Donath.

According to the criminal complaint, the 15 year old girl explained that on Saturday, January 12, she snuck out of her home and went over to Donath’s house, who lives approximately two to three blocks away.  She stated that they went to the basement and began kissing each other.  This led to her taking her clothes off and the ex-boyfriend  taking his clothes off.

Donath is presently signed up to enter the military and his recruiter had told him to break off the relationship for fear that he would be arrested for having sexual contact with a minor.  She stated that she was fearful that she could get pregnant because it was sex without any protection.

The 17 year old was asked by an officer if he remembered having a sexual encounter with his ex-girlfriend, at which point the Donath’s head sank and he became very nervous and stated yes he did.

Donath is charged with felony Sexual Assault of a Child Under 16 Years of Age and could face be fined $100,000, or imprisoned not more than 40 years, or both.

They are still minors. Why disclose names and details?????

    • sheboygandaily

The 17 year old boy has been charged as an adult. The victim’s name has not been released and was not mentioned in the article. Details are provided by the Sheboygan Police Department and can be read in detail by going to our Sheboygan County Criminal Complaints page.

I agree with Pastor-Bernice……. Whether or not the young man was “charged” as an adult, he is still technically considered a minor. Not saying what he did was right, but still……..

If people don’t want their name mentioned….follow the law.
          Simple!

      • Truth

Just because it is “reported” does not make it fact! See, real news outlets say “allegedly.” They also quote sources such as, the army recruiter, the police officer, or any school officials. You summarizing and or copy and pasting from a police report whilst saying “according to the criminal complaint” does not make it news.

Okay, so you are telling me… This girl snuck out of her house and went to his house, then proceeded to take off her clothes without saying no. I wish I could be in the states to help sort this out. He was enlisted to serve our country, and you decide to try him as an adult for something blown way out of proportion! I am currently deployed to Afghanistan, and I was looking forward to attending his Basic Training graduation later this year.

  • antiasser

If he was charged as a adult then shouldn’t you be calling him a man and not a “Boy” ?….. just saying… and this pictute doesnt look like a mug shit to me….. trolling again?

What a load of crap. Our tax dollars should be spent chasing things that actually matter. This is such a waste of money and that kid is going to have this on his record for the rest of his life. All because his girlfriend, who, mind you, snuck out of her parent’s house to have sex with her boyfriend, was 2 years younger.

    • More Opinionated

Ok. So any kid who sneaks out deserves to get raped. Got it. Also, age difference DOES matter if one is not to a certain requirement of “legal” stature. Got it. Thank you for your assistance!. … – More Opinionated

I don’t see how you can say that she was raped she consented and yes she was 2 years younger but at 15 she knew what’s she was doing… Besides he’s not even 18 himself their both minors so yeah that’s not what I would consider rape…

      • Opinionated

I’m sorry, but where exactly does it say that she didn’t consent and that he raped her? “….she snuck out of her home…. ” “This led to her taking her clothes off…” To top it off, they didn’t use protection? Tell me how, at that age, this “kid” doesn’t know better than to sneak out of her parents house, take off her clothes and have unprotected sex???? Yes, 15 is far too young to actually know what you’re doing and anyone on the planet could convince a 15 year old to do anything they want them to do, no matter how bad of an idea it is. Our teenagers are so impressionable that they can easily be convinced to do everything, such as keep everything clean, do their homework, make good decisions all the time…

I have no idea who runs this “news” outlet, but I really hope you guys get sued. I randomly get shown this site through facebook, and on a number of occasions, saw minors being pictured and or mentioned in an article! On top of that your “investigative journal” skills need A LOT of work. None of anything in this article has been proven, yet you talk about it as fact. You are helping to make this area a group of judgemental fools who believe what they read rather thank facts. Please get your house in order and stop perpetuating this ignorance.

  • Iamthevictim

She consented, he consented, the only big deal here is the age. It wasn’t rape. She knew what she was doing. He shouldn’t be charged with a felony.

For God sake ya got thugs running around with weapons that are charged as minors and get probation and no jail time at all, and then you this kid is charged like he is a brutal rapist. I believe there should be some changes in the laws so cases like this don’t label someone as a sexual pervert for life. I’m all for taking every child molester and dumping them in the ocean for shark food. But this is not that kind of a case. Some of you can act so smug, think back a few years about those teen years. Girls often liked older guys, so it wasn’t uncommon to see a couple years age difference. What happened in this case is something as old as the hills. In a perfect world, everyone would wait and make no mistakes, but people are not perfect, even ones saying follow the law.

From the book, Statutory Rape in Wisconsin: History, Rationale, and the Need for Reform” by Olzewski (2006). “Wisconsin should reform its laws, as has nearly every other state, taking into account the vast difference between a stereotypical case of child molestation and a consensual peer relationship, and should focus upon protecting children and adolescents from coerced sexual conduct”. “Wisconsin’s
statutory rape’ laws are unusual in that they prohibit not only sexual conduct
between an adult and an underage partner but also criminalize all sexual
conduct involving underage persons, even when that conduct involves peers
    and is fully consensual.”

  • FuckThisShit.

My boyfriend got charged with this same thing! It’s bullshit! I wanted to have sex with him. He wanted to have sex with me. We are IN LOVE. So fucking what? Who cares if he’d older then me? It wasn’t rape. Exactly like this.. Is not rape! This girl knew what she was doing..

Pretty pathetic when yo have TWO consenting teens, yet officials like to stick their noses in and make it all a big case. Isn’t there enough real rape cases they can attend to!
