SHEBOYGAN — The 2012-2013 Deer Donation Program was again a success in Sheboygan County thanks to deer hunters and Miesfeld’s Meat Market.
This year, a total of 26 deer were donated by Sheboygan County Sportsmen and Sportswomen.
The deer are processed at Miesfeld’s and then distributed to local Sheboygan County food pantries. A grand total of 1,020 pounds of venison were donated to help feed Sheboygan County’s hungry.
Compared to the 2011-2012 season, this year witnessed an 18.2% increase in the number of deer donated and 14.7% increase in the number of pounds donated. This success is not possible without the generosity provided by Sheboygan County deer hunters and Miesfeld’s Meat Market. “Thank you to everyone that contributed their deer or time to the Deer Donation Program to make it another successful year,” said Aaron Brault, Director of Planning & Conservation.
