SHEBOYGAN — The Sheboygan North High spring play, ‘Let’s Build a Campfire There’, is set for this weekend in the North High Auditorium and is an original, student-created composition of music, dance, art, acting and storytelling.
The show is centered on the theme of “Stories” and how people tell stories through all of the humanities. The inspiration for this show was the 75th anniversary of North High and while that took a back seat to storytelling, we also honor the tradition of North High.
The process of creating the show was/is both frustrating and inspiring. The students worked together for about four weeks dancing, singing, collaborating and as I’m sure you can imagine, arguing, goofing off, melting down and experiencing the joys and struggles of being creative, especially when working in a group setting. What we have created in a collection of stories that express our humanity. There are sad, embarrassing, inspiring and funny stories.
There are creations that may not make sense, and some that might make too much sense. We humbly invite you to be a part of this experience by attending one of our three public performances.
Tickets can be purchased at the door. The cost is $6 for adults, $4 for students and $3 for children in advance or $6 at the door. Performances are at 7 PM Friday and Saturday and 2 PM on Sunday.
